Bennett faces more flak over cut for solo parents at uni
Labour has again gone on the attack over Social Development Minister Paula Bennett's decision to cut an allowance for solo parents at university - confronting her with two solo mothers affected by the change. Ms Bennett narrowed the criteria for the Training Incentive Allowance so those solo parents or those on invalids' benefits doing tertiary courses such as diplomas or university degrees are no longer eligible. The decision has riled the Labour Party, which yesterday renewed its accusations Ms Bennett was "abandoning" other solo mothers by denying them an allowance she herself had benefited from when she was a solo mother at university in the 1990s. Labour MPs confronted Ms Bennett with stories of people affected by the change to the allowance, which provides up to $3862 a year for costs such as transport and course fees.
Fresh on the heels of the Business Round Table Baron Robbers plan to liquidate Maori Solo Mothers organs for the betterment of NZ, Paula Bennett has trumped National’s horrific and utterly counter-productive slashing of adult education programs by eliminating a benefit for solo mums getting tertiary education that Paul herself used to pull herself up by the boot straps as a solo mother to become a Minister of the crown.
Paula of course is the biggest patsy since Lee Harvy Oswald, with National’s agenda to privatize social services, it is easier to sell that by someone who was once a solo mum on the benefit herself.
The message is clear, if you are poor, you are dead to this Government and what they benefited from you won’t get. Key was quick to claim the pixies couldn’t print money when Goff pointed out that the draconian WINZ rules hurt the middle classes (where the hell was his criticism when it was hurting the poor, oh that’s right, when the middle classes hurt it’s the noble poor isn’t it?), but Key’s pixies have no problem printing money when it’s for a Tax cut that benefited the rich, Key’s pixies have no problem printing $35 million to prop up their favorite Private Education Industry and they can find the ink to print another $35 million for military boot camps that don’t work.
Funny what the pixies can find ink to print for isn’t it?
National’s agenda is to use this recession as an excuse to slash public services and have those services privatized for their corporate friends, no matter what the social damage.

Bennett deserves every piece of opprobrium heaped upon her. Sexist or otherwise. She is a bitch. By definition implies meanness. And that she is. As a woman I am ashamed this brainless toady is dished up to the nation as a success. She would have been better off educating her daughter about dropkick males and the idiocy of chosen single parenthood than wasting taxpayers money qualifying herself to lick powerful men's backsides.

Just because a term can only be used on one sex does make it automatically sexist. It is still derogatory as was intended.
