Edwards to endorse Obama's White House bid
Former presidential candidate John Edwards will endorse Barack Obama's Democratic White House bid, a campaign spokeswoman said, giving a big boost to the Illinois senator in his effort to rally the party around his candidacy. Edwards, the 2004 vice-presidential nominee, dropped out of the Democratic race in January and was heavily courted by both Obama and rival Hillary Clinton in the past few months. He will make the endorsement at a Grand Rapids rally. "I confirm the endorsement," of John Edwards, Obama spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters. The move comes the day after Obama was blown out by 41 points by Clinton in a nominating contest in West Virginia, but the loss was not enough to put much of a dent in his lead in the Democratic race. Obama retains an almost unassailable advantage in delegates who will select the Democratic nominee at the party convention in August. He gained the support on Wednesday of three more superdelegates, who are free to back any candidate, and the abortion rights group NARAL Pro-Choice America.

Edwards support of Barack (and his possible Vice President position) ends this for Hillary, but like every baby boomer who doesn’t know their time is over yet, she claws on to power no matter how much damage it causes everyone else – how baby boomer of her.

Still waiting for the damning conclusive proof you promised us to back up your constant claims that N.Z prisons are all racist.
Can you please post the evidence finally Bomber? and state just how and in what manner our prisons are racist and whom the racism is directed at?
Shouldn't be hard you've had 3 weeks to back up your claims now, wouldn't want everyone thinking you can't back up what you believe?

I can't see how racist prisons in NZ has ANYTHING to do with American Politics, perhaps Anon 9:39 is slow?
Hillary can't win this race yet she refuses to back out and with Edwards likely to be the VP she's shot that chance as well, will she in her fury attack Obama so hard that she wounds him for the main race? She's that driven.

All you've done when asked about the veracity and facts behind your constant claims is made some vague reference to a Sunday Star times article which you can't even produce or quote from. You can't even state how,in what manner and towards which ethnic group all the prisons in this country are racist against.
Its a pretty simple rule of journalism, if you want to be taken more seriously than your typical ZB talk back host ranting and raving to gain ratings then you actually have to have substance and facts to back up your claims. That way when your called out on them, like you have been you don't end up looking quite as silly.
I'm sure you must have more than a Sunday Star times article to back up your claims right Bomber? Given all the inmates we have there must be hundreds of these damning stories of institutional racism which you claim. Its a bit strange though, how even your mate Tim who spent time inside hasn't even managed to produce a single anecdote about this shocking racism?

Ummm - yes actually I have, I blogged on it many times, in 2006 there were a number of allegations of racism, corruption and violence made by a Dutch couple who worked at Rimutuka Prison, also Corrections Officer Andrew Coward made similar allegations of racism, I have also blogged on how the Police have been forced to change their interrogation techniques in this country after it was revealed that the current format is only focused on forcing a confession and that this may in fact put innocent people in prison, just as the 2007 Project Innocence suggested, and their research suggested that Maori and PI prisoners didn't bother appealing sentences as there was a perception of an intrinsic racism within the justice system. I point out that people who have worked there have said that it is racist - seeing as they have worked there, I'm going to give them a little more credibility than an anonymous poster on my blog site.

Yawn, Anon you bore me - allegations have been made and a whitewash report was put out - it's all very well documented - they refused to talk to corrections and corrections 'investigated' the reports and the media also did many stories on it in 2006 and 2007.
Now can you please explain what this post has to do with American politics?

Well, his mum is white & she raised him. But, I agree it would be a telling symbol of how the US has progressed.
In terms of ongoing racism though, it is interesting that studies show Hispanics are actually more prejudiced towards African Americans than Whites are:

Bomber, a few of your most recent rants have been sub-par. This is one of them. As noted by nepenthe, Obama is a baby boomer himself (the baby boom generation spans 1945-1970). The US election is not as much generational--although the young have gone for the youngest candidate just like blacks have gone for the black(ish) candidate and wimin have gone for the female candidate. The exceptions to this rule is that the over-60 crowd and Jews have split their votes mostly between Clinton and McCain (again, not marching in generational lines), whereas Hispanics have favoured Clinton. Arab-Americans prefer Barack; the rich prefer McCain. The issue is far more complex than your purported generational struggle. In fact, socio-economic class--yes, the Marxists may in fact have a point still--is a far better indicator of the voting demographic than age. You just need to know how to read that demographic more accurately.
Please lift your game. Tim is back and although some of his quirks and pet peeves are odd, most of his comments are well-thought and a cut above yours. Although I must say that your first post on Israel's 60th is one of the most reasonable things you have said on that very touchy subject.
