Pope acknowledges sex abuse scandal 'badly handled'
Pope Benedict has acknowledged the Church handled the paedophile priests scandal "very badly" and told US bishops to bind up wounds and seek reconciliation with those who were "so seriously wronged." For the second consecutive day, the pope said the scandal had caused "deep shame" and enormous pain as the result of priests betraying their vocation by sexually abusing minors with such "gravely immoral behaviour.After visiting the White House on Wednesday morning and praying with President George W Bush, he dedicated a section of a speech to the bishops to the scandal that rocked the Church starting in 2002 and has forced US dioceses to pay over $US2 billion ($NZ2.56 billion) in damages. "It is your God-given responsibility as pastors to bind up the wounds caused by every breach of trust, to foster healing, to promote reconciliation and to reach out with loving concern to those so seriously wronged," he said.
I love that Pope Mobile, isn't that a symbol of faith? A bullet proof glass box, why doesn't God just stop the bullets, wouldn't a truly faithful Pope just wander around in an open aired limo? I mean does God have your back or not? I suppose his apology could've meant something if he wasn't so busy kissing the American Bishop who did everything he could to hide child molesting priests, and seeing as the John Jay Report found 4392 priests with accusations against them, that's a lot of hiding even for a servant of God. Why Church leaders haven't been arrested for hiding sexually molesting priests, and indeed in some cases these priests went on to hurt even more kids, is a little beyond me. I've got a lotta time for God, I just can't stand Christians.

This has been going on for centuries! And as always, covered up by the bishops who probably are into it as well.
I can never understand the religious rant that goes on with all these religions. They preach love and forgiveness. They preach that you must get married before sex. They preach that homosexuality is wrong. and all these things and yet they are the very ones who go out and hurt others by doing these things

A lot (if not all) of the blame for this abuse lies with their parents, they chose to send them into the situation, many of the children tried to tell their parents and got a smack around the head for their trouble.
Talking against 'father' was a big sin and the parents would not hear it. I suspect many parents felt that ‘father’ was entitled to a bit of fun and might even have been honoured if their child was one of the ‘chosen’. Kids sucking dick while their parents kissed ass.
Most of the parents knew but were so locked into their superstition/brain washing refused to do anything about it. People are still adding and abetting the abuse of their own children.
Parents rarely admit their own abuse and neglect, easier to blame someone else.
honestly my friend, i wonder why you bother with catholic priest,it just so sad,
the people we move on to a new life,
a strong life ,
