Christian Dr's lecturing on the 'dangers' of gay parenting suggests it's time to legalize gay marriage
Professor Kuruvilla George, who is Victoria's deputy chief psychiatrist, has signed a submission to a senate inquiry calling for a ban on same-sex marriage.
He is among a group of doctors, who in a letter to the marriage equality inquiry, say limiting marriage between a man and woman "is important for the future health of our nation".
"We submit that the evidence is clear that children who grow up in a family with a mother and father do better in all parameters than children without," the Doctors for the Family group says.
Christian Doctors who claim children raised by gay parents are disadvantaged are as credible as flat-earth society Air Pilots warning on the dangers of spontaneous combustion. Why these moral fools can still be allowed to prevent others from sharing the same rights because of their baseless bigotry is a question whose time has come.
Come on NZ - legalize Gay marriage and progressively lead the world the way we did with universal suffrage, the welfare state, the 40 hour working week and a nuclear free country. Let's remember what it means to be an egalitarian country.

Won't happen in this lekshun cycle at least - if only because when Jonkey is unsure of which way yavrij Kiwi's thinking, he looks to Straya's right wing - either Tarn Yabbit or Joolia. It keeps him sweat with them too - hence the latest changes to immigration setting us up for detention centres. No immagination, unintelligent, ideologically and populist driven - UTTERLY! Wake up NZ.
There is an interesting sign of the slow realization of Kiwi's as to the nakedly hard right agenda that this government is attempting to sneak through. The Stuff sites online polls have increasingly been delivering a more left of centre result in what is usually a very right wing forum. Particularly those asking questions about welfare "reforms". The latest regarding the increase in prescription charges is a case in point. Sad how it takes the destruction of all that is good and positive in our community for people to wake up. Clearly you don't miss it till its gone.

Currently the welfare state is being dismantled, unemployment and underemployment is rife, worker’s rights are progressively tossed in the bin and who knows how long this country will be nuclear free with the US military increasing their presence here. Egalitarianism is quickly become a fleeting memory here.
The conditions in this country parallel those of the late 80’s and 90’s which points to this government implementing Rogernomics 2.0. Key’s wavering remarks and position on gay marriage seem to be a sideshow issue he’s prepared to toy with, if National wants a third term it’s unlikely they’ll pass something through which would distance them from their redneck and ultra-religious zealot voting base. So don’t hold your breath, you’ll suffocate.
With consumer confidence here at record lows, I can only imagine National would legalize gay marriage if they thought gay weddings would be an economic stimulus mirroring the storyline from an episode of The Simpsons.
