Radio NZs double standards when it comes to bombers
Whoa, whoa whoa, let me get this straight, when it comes to me criticizing the Prime Minister on the panel, I get banned, yet when it comes to blatant Muslim bashing with their terrorist bomber Barbie not a whisper?
Criticize the Prime Minster and get banned, bash Muslims and get a Tony Veitch-esk lads laugh along?
What the hell?
The sooner this baby boomer dinosaur of a station gets some competition, the better.

Self-censorship seems to be the order of the day. I heard an announcer on BFM in Auckland today apologising for sounding critical of our fearless leader, John Key. She was worried about losing her job. Whatever happened to our free media?
OMG is great indeed.
I have decided to make this blatant racism more widely known.
Here are a couple of letters I wrote to either RNZ or Islamic foundations around the country. This needs to get to a wider audience. You are welcome to copy and paste either.
Dear..,
Yesterday Thursday 27th October there was a comment on a Radio NZ Panel show that I found extremely offensive to
Muslims and sickening in general,
during part two of the panel the panellists suggested that a Muslim Barbie would be a Terrorist Barbie or Suicide
Bomber Barbie, I am not of Islamic faith but still found this to be highly inappropriate and offensive and for Radio
New Zealand to say it has made me feel sick. If you would like to listen to the broadcast it is available here:

If you would like to make a complaint please do so here: http://www.radionz.co.nz/formalcomplaints/form
I made complaints under Standard 1: Good Taste and Decency and Standard 7: Discrimination and Denigration

If you have any questions please do ask.
Thanks,

Dear Jim,
Honestly I am a thousand times more gob smacked that a panellist would refer to the Muslim world as terrorists and for
your replacement to take it further and say suicide bombers than I am that someone would refer to the prime minister
as a "nasty piece of work" or that the PMs behaviour would be more like that of a "Meth addict on a bender". I
honestly do not know if I have ever heard something so disgusting and racist on RNZ. There are so many poignant and
intelligent jokes/comments that could be made with the same lead up regarding the mistreatment or perceived oppression
of woman in the certain countries that some may refer to as the Muslim world but those were not made.
I'm not going to say how RNZ should treat their staff or panellists collectively racists in this matter but I am going
to tell others how I feel about it.
Wow honestly my partner and I have been feeling horrified regarding these comments, it makes me feel sick that it has
been said in what I believe to be the best county in the world on what was possibly the best radio station in the
world also. It makes me feel distrust to the whole of Radio New Zealand and others I know feel this distrust too
recently.
The extreme "throw away racism" that has become of The Panel, is not funny, is not okay and is not what Radio New
Zealand should be broadcasting to Aotearoa. Maybe a segment of your afternoon should be spent reading this incomplete
list of children killed by IDF or illegal Israeli settlers. It might take a while but would probably go a long way in
RNZ making amends. You could read 7 per day for a year based off roughly 220 "Afternoons" days.
Thanks,
Raph
