The Libyan hypocrisy

So all that international indignation over Gaddafi only goes so far hu? While International voices have covered themselves in glory for opposing human rights abuses in Libya with the toppling of the regime, it turns out some of those International voices have been speaking out of both corners of their mouths.

In information found by the new Nato backed forces it turns out China and Europe have been selling weapons to Gadaffi and the british had the Mi6 kidnap and torture Libyan dissidents, one of whom ironically is now a commander in the new regime.

Now repeat after me, invading Libya is for human rights and not for oil.

invading Libya is for human rights and not for oil.

invading Libya is for human rights and not for oil.

invading Libya is for human rights and not for oil.

invading Libya is for human rights and not for oil.

See, say it enough times and we can all keep turning a blind eye.

So the fact Gaddafi was selling oil at market prices to the West, his main customer, and showed no signs of stopping, wouldn't cause you to reconsider that conclusion?

Why would France embrace supporting intervention in Libya, yet rejected it in Iraq, when apparently it's all about oil?

When did it become news that Libya bought arms from China?

How does providing air support to a mixed bunch of rebels to take over the country make it easier?

How does co-operating with Gaddafi until Libyans started turning on him, support a thesis of wanting to overthrow him to get oil?

Syria has plenty of oil too, and sells it to the West, so why isn't it being dealt to, if it is "just" about oil?

What was morally wrong about stopping Gaddafi using air power and tanks to attack civilians?

How many contradictions can you believe in at once?

Libertscott - you're asking the wrong questions, mate. Your questions are a quasi-apologist's attempt to rationalise Western hypocrisy, by turning the issue back on itself.

Huge *Fail*.

Its about the fact that Libya has / had a central bank that was OWNED by Libya, not a PRIVATE central bank. The first thing the "rebels" did was set up a new oil ministry and a new central bank - one that creats money out of fresh air and charges interest. Gaddafi was looking at an African currency, based on gold. . .the money junkies in the city/wall st/geneva cannot allow that model to exist . . and it no longer does !! Its also about destroying the infrastructure of Libya then making Libya pay for its own reconstruction with money it's bank will now have to borrow.

The ABCNNBCBS, BBC have all lied to breathtaking extent in libya from before day 1. BBc last week showed the rebels (which by the way are made up of Islamists/al Qaeda types who have fought AGAINST the west in Iraq and AfPak - dont believe me look up Libyan Islamic Fighting Force.) in green sq Tripoli celebrating the fall of Gaddafi cept they were INDIANS, waying INDIAN flags http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amtTCP91IDY as for bombing his own civilians - more Lies the Russians released satelitte photos showing it didn't happen. Forget the main stream media for real info on Libya . . google fake libya news or somesuch and read what the3 INDEPENTANT journos on the ground r saying. . .nato are the killers of civilians here.

They discovered that putting the Taleban in power and later torturing them didn't work, so they've changed their policies completely. Now they torture them first, then put them in power.
