8% support for Mana Party NZ Herald Poll

The NZ Herald online poll is asking if people would vote for Hone's new Mana Party - it is currently running at 8% saying yes. That's with over 10 000 votes.

Hone is aiming at 3.5%.

You bitch about traditional polls being biased because of being restricted to landlines yet tout an online poll as having some sort of significance???

While there are many problems with cheap brainfart opinion polls, getting a strong result like that on a website not known for its left wing bias suggests hones support is wider than you have claimed Gosman. More people are hurting in this recession than you accept. John Key has done nothing to help this country move forward.

I voted for the Maori Party I would 'maybe' be considered an intelligent vote?. And I will not vote for Maori Party again - Im sick of the puff n stuff, I am more interested in jobs for my whanau, a fairs days pay for a fairs days work. I am worried about the price of food, the price of petrol and the threat that Don Brash/ John key will muck around with the minimum wage. I am not so worried about the corporate iwi so with that I will vote either Mana or back to Labour. I reckon Hone will resonate with a lot of people who a getting scared about what National/Act (and Maori Party)are up to!

Only people who actually feel strongly either way would vote in that poll so it's hardly indicative of anything.

Time will tell if it will be another Winston first type party in this case Hone and his people first as Nandor worries, or something more representative as a whole.

From what I've see so far of Hone I think the former is much more likely, and it will not be a true peoples party as say if Bradford was it's leader.

GRIN - Well BobbyD, seeing as Mana has defied everyone's claim that it would never start, I'm not ruling out it's impact just yet.
