O'Connor's apology only goes so far
Labour MP Damien O'Connor apologised to his leader, Phil Goff, for causing trouble - but made it clear he stuck by his concern that the party's direction was driven by "a gaggle of gays and self-serving unionists".
West Coast banjo enthusiast and staunch heterosexual, Damien 'I don't wax my pubes for no one mate' O'Connor has described the list process within Labour as dominated by unionists and a gaggle of Gays.
Firstly Damien, the collective term for gays isn't a gaggle, it's a 'conclave of homos', and if the gays are young, it's an 'evening clutch of twinks'.
The collective term for self defined straight shooters like Damien O'Connor is a 'murder of breeders'. Thankfully the 'murder of breeders' faction of the Labour Party is as extinct as the future of West Coast coal.
Maybe someone should tell Damien that if you can't win the West Coast by not being a redneck, then maybe it's not worth winning?

When the list IS dominated by gays despite them forming only 105 it is clear there is an agenda to discriminate against hetros, Maryann Street is the dullest most arrogant tool in the kit, and to be sidelined for it is a sure sign the party is more about casting couches than anything else - Darryn Hughes being the latest case in point. O'Connor is right to point out this reverse discrimination of which he is a victim, obviously the only way to advance in Lab is to go gay.
