Where my climate deniers at? The last nail in the climate denial coffin

Where my climate deniers at? Where are they to explain how one of their climate denial prophets whom they quoted so heavily from has admitted global warming will be a threat?

That's right, Bjørn Lomborg the 'Sceptical environmentalist' that climate deniers have held so tightly onto has turned his back on climate denial and admits climate change is the major issue...

Bjørn Lomborg: $100bn a year needed to fight climate change
Exclusive 'Sceptical environmentalist' and critic of climate scientists to declare global warming a chief concern facing world
The world's most high-profile climate change sceptic is to declare that global warming is "undoubtedly one of the chief concerns facing the world today" and "a challenge humanity must confront", in an apparent U-turn that will give a huge boost to the embattled environmental lobby.

Bjørn Lomborg, the self-styled "sceptical environmentalist" once compared to Adolf Hitler by the UN's climate chief, is famous for attacking climate scientists, campaigners, the media and others for exaggerating the rate of global warming and its effects on humans, and the costly waste of policies to stop the problem.

But in a new book to be published next month, Lomborg will call for tens of billions of dollars a year to be invested in tackling climate change. "Investing $100bn annually would mean that we could essentially resolve the climate change problem by the end of this century," the book concludes.

As early as last week climate denier Mac Dr was claiming that TVNZ conspired with Lord Stern to have no scientists interview him, that's how crazy and desperate the climate deniers have become. Where is Cactus Kate to admit she was wrong? Where is Whaleoil admitting he was wrong? Where is National Party on line mouth piece Kiwiblogh admitting he was wrong? The delusional UNPC? The right wing hate speech site No Minister and to a much lesser degree of influence Mac Dr admitting they are now wrong?

If Bjørn Lomborg the 'Sceptical environmentalist' can admit he was wrong, why can't the right wing NZ blogosphere?

It gives me a warm feeling inside when people refer to No Minister as a "hate speech" site - it means we're annoying the hell out of the kind of people who use terms like "hate speech."

So, Lomborg's publishing something pointing out that, much an' all as climate change alarmists need to be smacked down, we do actually need to do something about CO2 emissions? Sure - sounds sensible to me.

To say that Lomborg "denied" climate change is to fundamentally misunderstand his work.

Lomborg always stated that fighting climate change (he accepted it existed) did not make economic sense because it is massively expensive and the payoffs are comparatively far off.

If you spend $100B / year or even just $1 you will save more lives faster if you spend it on stuff like providing clean water or fighting disease than if you spend it on fighting climate change.

@Anon nails it. See here.

Lomborg said that the policies that he'd previously evaluated were wasteful compared to policies addressing other problems. But other warming policies stack up better.

The day I start posting on climate change Bomber will be the day I have worked out how to get rich off it.

I simply see others beating me to the punch who are already selling the myth and a whole bunch of naive woofters supporting them.
