Women are being urged to think twice about voting for Super City mayoral contender John Banks claiming lack of leadership in protecting a memorial commemorating 100 years of the suffrage movement in central Auckland.
While John Banks admits that he cares more about Penguins in Antarctica than social issues...
...watching John go ahead with the desecration of a monument celebrating giving women the vote leads to only one conclusion, John Banks hates women.
Why any female voter would willingly vote for a man who is happy to demolish a monument to women getting that vote is beyond irony.

That clip with Oliver Driver interviewing Banks is priceless. Something about an orphan promising to sing and dance for him (that's sorta creepy in a way) and stressing that he cares more about penguins than social issues. Yeah, I like penguins and protection of animals is to be commended, but c'mon...
Why would anyone (man or woman) vote for him?!! He is clearly stark raving 'radio rental!' Len may be a bit of a wet rag but it's clear to this punter that he really is about the people. Banks - hmmm ... I don't think you can say that about him. Bank's campaign motto should be: "John Banks - doing for John Banks."
Len is SO about the people hes dirty dealing with Andrew Williams for the deputy mayors role in exchange for upsetting Banks.See his drunken antics in Castor bay...
Add to that the moronic faceslapping,the misuse of the credit card,his illegal use of council resources to campaign with and his refusal to fess up about that birthday bash he had at ratepayers expense and its clear he certainly is "about the people"...ripping them off that is.
Len is indeed all those things James but at least his many public failings point to one thing - he's human. John Banks on the other hand may actually be some form of android with a major software fail in regards to personality. I don't think John Banks likes anyone - himself included.
Banks or Brown, I don't really care. But at least when it's all over I won't have to see Banks shit-eating grin leering at me every morning during daily commute.
