Pointless gang patch ban proof of ACT's empty gestures and hollow philosophy

How pointless is this bullshit assault on the freedom of the individual masquerading as a gang patch ban? 100% bullshit...

Politics foil patch ban hope
Cities keen to emulate Wanganui's anti-gang patch law are not having their job made easier by the Government. Wairarapa is the latest region investigating following Wanganui's lead in banning gang insignia, with Masterton Mayor Garry Daniell having met police area commander Inspector John Johnston to discuss the issue. However, any region wanting to copy Wanganui will need a private member's bill passed through Parliament as Local Government Minister Rodney Hide does not intend fast-tracking national legislation.

...and why is tough on crime crap Rodney Hide being so slow to allow this nonsense to be adopted anywhere else? Well because Rodney never believed in this bullshit to begin with, that's why...

At its first reading in April, Mr Hide told Parliament he would happily vote against the bill because it was against the principles of freedom. "Freedom is about the individual, and the measure of a free society is how we move to protect the minority from the majority. If the majority thinks that people wearing glasses should be locked up, that is not freedom or democracy," he said.

...…and in this Rodney is 100% right, but because ACT is a fringe political party now, Rodney has had to suck up to the public whipping advocates in the Sensible Sentencing Trust and so against his political philosophy has had to go along with such a stupid idea. His feet dragging isn't to be applauded thought, it only highlights what a stupid decision the gang patch ban was in the first place.

No wonder ACT are falling to pieces.

...and yet I'll be on q+a this weekend anon, not bad for a wolf crying boy hu? You can check out my two tv shows during the week as well, i get the feeling they grind your teeth.

Sometimes issues need repetition Anon because they keep coming up and people like you seem to need to have the arguments drummed into them.

But what about that Gang Patch crap huh? Anon don't you think Rodney should feel ashamed of himself after saying "Freedom is about the individual, and the measure of a free society is how we move to protect the minority from the majority. If the majority thinks that people wearing glasses should be locked up, that is not freedom or democracy," and then voting for the gang patch - it's ugly eh Anon?
