Drunk cops + deaths during Police chases = doesn’t matter
Last week Judith ‘Crusher’ Collins explained why Police were exempt from the 'blame-it-on-the- kids-booze-policy' be declaring Police needed to chill out after a hard day at work by getting smashed off their faces in unlicensed on site Police bars. Now even though the Police Commissioner actually supported dragging the Police booze bars into the 21st century, Crusher Collins was having none of that and spluttered that the Cabinet had decided to fly in the face of reason to keep our boys in blue drunk and out of site.
Which is righteous, because drunk cops are as part of our country’s rich cultural tapestry as Cops driving fast and killing innocent citizens is. Nothing shows our ingrained ‘love- the-cop-man-no-questions-asked-society’ than the unchallenged way we view them killing people on the roads when in the pursuit of boy racers. If the cops were firing wildly at fleeing crims and killing innocent passerbys at the rate they kill innocent people during car chases, there would be an inquiry – but because it’s boy racers, we can’t excuse Police fast enough in their latest chase inspired road deaths.
Note it’s never any question about the pumped up under trained bored retail staff they recruit to become Police Officers, or the car crushing crap Crusher Collins has imposed, oh no - it’s all just the boy racers fault, apparently the cop mans desire to chase over rides any public safety concerns whatsoever.

So in your world bomber, the person who causes the accident is never to blame?
The man who sped away from the police last week and killed two people was 22 years old, and a disqualified driver.
Do you not think this 22 year old man has any responsibility for what he did, or will you just excuse him of murder, and blame someone else?
You are an apologist for a murderer bomber.
And before you say where did I excuse him, by not laying any blame at this mans door, you absolve him of any responsibilty.

Y-A-W-N - where did I say that I excused the boy racer brave anonymous poster who won't even put their name to their own opinion? The boy racer is the rocket, the cops are the fuel - your myopic worship of the Police is better suited for No Minister or Kiwiblogh, not this fine blogsite.
Did you listen to the interview with Kim Hill on Radio NZ on Saturday morning with the American Police Officer highly critical of our chase policy? Is he an apologist for murder brave anonymous poster? Was Kim Hill an apologist for murder by discussing the flawed NZ policy of chase?
Like I said, best you stick to No Minister and Kiwiblogh, I think you are unable to look at the issue outside of your paradigm.
I think the real issue is this:
Why are our cops allowed to imbibe such a dangerous mind-altering drug off duty or otherwise?
And dont pull the "Cause its legal" excuse.
If a cop were sniffing glue off duty, alarms would be ringing.
And the fact that they are exempt
from regulation on said drug.... I mean.. WTF???!!!
And they want to arm them??

Is there a site that lists all the chases and their outcomes?
What is the purpose of the chases anyway, to be there when the suspect crashes, to maintain knowledge of direction of travel for the waiting spikers or to Pit the suspect's car off the road?
The cops are so terrified of getting kicked out of their own bars you wouldnt beleive it!
THEY COULD USE SOME FIREARMS TRAINING IN THE SIMULATOR BEFORE THEY GO FULLY ARMED ON THE HIP IN A HOLSTER.
I didn't post because you are an anonymous poster, I don't feed trolls on this site - to claim Kim Hill and the American Police Officer are (alongside me) apologists for murder shows you have nothing to add.
