McPrison Profits

Prison will bring $1.2b to region, says Collins
A new prison to be built in South Auckland will bring $1.2 billion in economic benefits over 30 years, Corrections Minister Judith Collins says. But she has been criticised for announcing the gains to be had from higher crime and more prisoners. Ms Collins told the Rotary Club in Auckland yesterday that the 960-bed prison at Wiri was expected to bring 1900 jobs to the region in the next five years.

The glee with which she announces the profits she expects to make from a the private prison nation makes my blood shiver.

1900 jobs?

Didn't Jonkey also announce thousands of jobs for his cycle track?

Where are those?

So are the Iwis gonna get a piece the action under the guise of having a greater Maori empasis on rehab?

The maori party are nothing but uncle toms if there are crumbs on the table left by their masters.
