Chris Carter has every right to be pissed off by media homophobia

Chris has ever reason to be pissed off with the way the media have painted him out to be a luxury gay boy - because that's EXACTLY how the right wing media have gone after Chris. Whaeloil constantly makes reference to Chris insinuating that he is a gay pig and claimed Chris Carters dead mother had been using a taxpayer funded cell phone, here is what Adolf Finklestien over at that horrific No Minister says...

They need two men who think that bums are for pooing and sheilas are for screwing. Men from the true heartland of New Zealand.

...Kiwiblogh spun that lie over the Ferry trip for Carter and let's not forget Duncan Garner only last April...

Flamboyant Flaming Homosexual pinko flys to Europe on your taxpayer money (probably to spend it all on expensive cocktails and lube)

...so yes, Chris you have every reason to feel anger at the manner in which you have been maligned and while the right wing blogosphere is in rapture at your meltdown, they all seem to ignore the tiny amount of money that was overspent during your time as Minister to dredge up shit from the Whangamata marina.

All of that said Chris, you can't use that anger of being maligned to justify not turning up to the media, that's a responsibility of any public figure paid by the taxpayer and with all due respect to Chris, you knew your enemies would paint you out as a 'luxury gay boy', why feed and fuel that homophobia with behaviour and expenses that could fall into that category?

As for the wrath of Goff and his reshuffle - Grant, Charles and Nanaia are great, but I would have liked to have seen some of the Auckland MPs like Phil Twyford, David Shearer and Jacinda Ardern getting the nod because Labour has to rebuild Auckland if they want to win in 2011, their vote collapsed in Auckland by Auckland Labour supporters not bothering to vote which made the last election one of the lowest turns outs on record.

Phil ignores Auckland at his own peril.

I am so sick of all the beat up about credit card spending, that was laregly repaid. The media is totally over-heating it. The media behaviour towards Chris Carter was disgusting- chasing him like a rabid band of papparazi.

The most shameful thing is our totally inadequate tabloid and sensationalist MSN in NZ.

Where is the balanced scrutiny that looks equally at National MPs' dubious spending. What's to be gained by chasing an MP to his home after he's been demoted, and making innuendos about Carter as a gay stereotype while doing it? the news media behaving like salivating dogs before a kill.

The Labour Party always needed to re-build and get back in touch with their grass roots, after losing their way. That issue is the real story.

And why isn't the media going after the National Party so rapidly - Tim Grosser, Bill english, Murray McCully, Richar Worth, Phil Heatley.... and PEDA. They exert far more effort going after the Labour Party.

And they should be paying far more attention to Paula Bennett's welfare forum & to Sue Bradford's excelent report on it.

With all due respect, the choice Chris Carter made regarding the Whangamata marina was the correct one.

since the final acceptance of the marina consent by David Benson - Pope,

The Kai moana beds have suffocated under mud and other dredged material.

A rare species of moko skink was exterminated on site with an eco-toxic weed spray.

The world famous Whangamata Bar (surf break ) and international tourist destination has degraded dramatically, and even boaties are complaining that they are running aground because the estuary's entrance has changed (the bar)

This is because Nick Smith, as minister of DoC in 1998 directed the department to withdraw from appealing the marina.

Chris is a man of his word, and he should stand up and expose the corrupt practices of the Thames Coromandel District Council, which have facilitated this private development on public land
