Do you really trust John Banks to be Super City Mayor?

KiwiSaver fund probes to continue
Two investment watchdogs say the resignation of Huljich Wealth Management's managing director Peter Huljich will make no difference to their investigations into the KiwiSaver manager. Huljich yesterday stepped down as MD and chief investment officer to be replaced by chairman and former Reserve Bank Governor Don Brash after weeks of controversy over his management of the firm's KiwiSaver scheme. But members of the investment industry have called the resignation a "false sacrifice" and questioned whether Brash can add any value as a manager. Allegations surfaced a month ago about Huljich selling shares into the firm's KiwiSaver funds to ramp up returns and attract more investors. The scheme, which has 70,000 members and more than $117 million invested, has marketed itself heavily on its top performing results and the involvement of Auckland mayor John Banks and Brash on its board.

Despite John's recent morphing from homophobic talkhate radio National Party old boy into friendly Auckland champion National Party old boy, questions have to be asked about his role in the Huljich fiasco. How can he claim as he has that his role was above board when they have more resembled a Ponzi scam than an investment scheme? If we accept that he is ignorant of the situation, then how can he be trusted to provide financial oversight as Super City Mayor to the horrific abuses possible by the orwellian double speak named 'Council-Controlled Organizations' which will be able to make the Huljich Kiwisaver program look accountable.

Do we really trust John Banks for Super Mayor after his involvement in Huljich?

Trust? When did we ever trust this man! This is a guy who is so wretched - he is now getting a complete PR overhaul from Bill Ralston. If you need that kind of help to make yourself more 'palatable' we are seriously fucked.

I think the words 'feather', 'nest' and 'large ego' could be worked into a sentence here!

This man must not be 'Lord Mayor.' The problem is we have not other decent options and Aucklanders being the apathetic shites that we are will let his happen.

OK - rant over.

LOL - any day now anon, any day. The disgust many have shown the wild west unregulated manner Huljich has gone about his business reeks of the same ponzi scam that hit Hanover.

I'm amazed that people would touch BBB rated finance companies, that's a one in ten chance you are not getting your money back.

So that given, shouldn't Banks have been much smarter on the Huljich front?

Banksie has always been a fraudster. Remember his scam with John Carter ringing in to his talk back show as Hone the dole bludger. Aucklanders and Kiwis are fuckwits for voting this trash into power!
