The joy of drunk off duty cops (get better drinking stories)

Detective charged over late-night row
A police officer will appear in court on a disorder charge after allegedly verbally abusing a woman and her young son while on a night out drinking with a colleague. The Herald understands the two officers were detained in the early hours of Saturday in Papakura. One of the men is alleged to have approached a woman in a parked car and demanded her name and address. When she refused, he allegedly told her he was a police officer and pressed his badge against the windscreen. The woman - whose 11-year-son was in the back of the car - again refused to give the pair her details and told one of the officers that his fly was down. The Herald understands one of the officers is alleged to have then exposed himself to the woman and her son. The woman crossed the road to a petrol station and asked for help from one of the staff, who called the police. The two off-duty detectives followed her into the petrol station, telling witnesses they were police officers. Uniformed officers arrived at the station and tried to convince the two detectives to leave with them quietly. The pair refused, so the senior sergeant from Papakura was called. When the two detectives refused to go to the station with the higher-ranking officer, they were arrested. The incident was captured on CCTV.

I've said it once, I'll said it a thousand times, we can't allow the cops to drink with the public, the public needs protection from these angry, drunk alpha males, we HAVE to keep Police bars on site at Police stations going because sweet Jesus we don't want them exploding on the public. The only reason they will be charged is because it's on CCTV, if it hadn't been on tape the mother would've been threatened with some bullshit trumped up charge until she dropped her complaint, that's the usual standard procedure in these cases.

Booze still part of police culture
The refusal by Superintendent Graham Thomas to take a breath-test after being spotted driving home erratically from a police bar is just the latest in a string of incidents involving officers who had been drinking in a police bar or canteen.

The extreme stress caused by the job, the pathetic training they are given (19 weeks) and the lack of serious counseling and holiday home services combine to create unarticulated rage sown together by a repressed culture of pathological lying (ask any woman who has dated a cop) which seems to exploded the second off duty cops mix with the public, remember this case last year...

Off-duty police accused of assault
Three off-duty police officers are facing assault charges for allegedly attacking two students in the lobby of an apartment building. Constables Chris Renata, 31, Patrick Garty, 32, and Wiremu Bowers-Rakatau, 21, are due back in Auckland District Court on September 21 after making an appearance there on Monday. The three were suspended from duty early last month, but returned to work last week carrying out non-normal tasks, the New Zealand Herald reported today. Garty faces three assault counts and Bowers-Rakatau faces two under the Crimes Act. Renata has been charged with common assault under the less serious Summary Offences Act. The three were arrested this week in relation to an incident in central Auckland on March 18 involving a group of university students going home after celebrating St Patrick's Day. One of the students, the son of an Auckland detective, needed stitches to his head.

Oh the irony huh? The only reason these off duty cops are getting prosecuted is because they were dumb enough to beat the crap out of the son of a Detective, normally off duty cops would’ve been able to get away with bashing people up, but beat up the son of a Detective and there’s hell to pay.

Until the Police get the services necessary to help deal with the stresses of the job, let's keep them locked up in their bars to protect the public.

Once again bomber gets it arse about face.

We want to encourage the police to intertact with the community they come from, not isolate them in their own cliques.

How about gang members bomber?
Also Alpha males.
Should we isolate them too, or encourage interaction with the wider community they come from?

Oh, and not all Police are corrupt Alpha Males, just like not all Maori are baby killing gang members.

But you knew that, right Bomber?

Once again an anonymous police cheerleader. How No Minister of you.

We want to encourage the police to intertact with the community they come from, not isolate them in their own cliques.
Of course, once they have the proper resources to deal with the dreadful stresses the job brings with it, we would welcome our Police brothers and sisters with arms wide open, but until then, surely for the protection of the Public we should keep these angry alpha males within their own bars shouldn't we?

How about gang members bomber?
Gang members are paid for by the state and have the power of the law behind them? When did this happen?

Also Alpha males.
Should we isolate them too,

Alpha males are all paid for by the state and have the power of the law behind them as well? Wow.

or encourage interaction with the wider community they come from?
Of course brave anonymous poster, once they have the proper resources to deal with the dreadful stresses the job brings with it, we would welcome our Police brothers and sisters with arms wide open.

Oh, and not all Police are corrupt Alpha Males, just like not all Maori are baby killing gang members.
One chooses to be a Police Officer don't they Anon? Explain how someone chooses to be Maori?

But you knew that, right Bomber?
If I can get a rise out of you brave anonymous poster, my day is complete.

Ok, so I am one of those "brave anonymous posters," so you tell me this!
In fact, send this 'brave anonymous poster" remarks to the Police Commissioner's office and see what HE has to say!

This "brave anonymous poster" wants to know why the hell is being a Police Officer so "stressful?"
So stressful, that he/she has to go out, get drunk and commit a crime? Why is that?
Because I tell you what, I cannot see one fucken iota of a clue as to why this is. In fact, why are Doctors, Nurses and all the other front line services "stressed out also?" Why aren't they out there getting drunk and being abusive? What about office workers, sales reps and all those people that work. Do they not get stressed also? Or is it just Police Officers? And don't tell me that the Police do not have "support systems" in place to deal with stressed Officers! Don't you fucken dare!

Fucken farce if you ask me! And there was the fucken Police Commissioner the other day, telling us that the public cannot control their booze intake! Why the hell can he not look into his own back yard before pissing in ours!

Righto.
