The end of Queen's Wharf.

Mission accomplished. A successful banner ad campaign at last. Queens Wharf development criticised into oblivion - imploding into the vacuum of its own contorted brief and collapsing under the leaden hooves of the choreographed tendering round.
Cup of tea. Cup of fucked it up. Cup of uninspired, under-funded, confused, misdirected and ending in bickering and stalled or abandoned with no immediate chance of resolution with the alternatives explored being massively expensive — that is a cup of everything that is wonky and whiffy in the way the city is run and applicable to just about every major crisis the city has tried to digest. The Eastern Motorway Question: abandoned. The Waterview Connection: still arguing. A 2nd city harbour crossing: 20 years+ away from a start date and no plan to use the Vic Park tunnel as the start of one either - and they'll still keep the ugly grey overhead concrete viaduct that ruins the park. Bledisloe Wharf stadium: piss off. Electric trains: not necessarily new and not necessarily in the promised 3-5 year timeframe and not necessarily anywhere near you because they aren't going to add any track milage. Railway stations: where they dare not install clocks due to fear the patrons will realise just how poor the service can be. And so on. A great big rattling tea trolley of fucked it up.So it's back to the drawing board.

I love your writing style at times Tim, just cracks me up.
Waiting for cost blow outs on Eden Park to seal the deal on fuck ups.
THE CASE FOR CASH(ON THE BUSES)
For the Rugby World Cup that is.The snapper card coming in mid way to the end of next year in Auckland is good for Wellintonian's who want to use their ten dollar card when they come up here.Get real.Politician's maybe?
Cash was something many visitors would find easy and appreciate-being one less thing to worry about.I've substituted that for the card.Loading them up with credit might prove difficult for broke students.
Up to a 1000 taxi's in Wellington?
Have Snapper by March!
No this is the wrong thing for us.Keep the old 17 year's ticket's.
"Electric trains: not necessarily new" - They'll probably time it with the phasing out of Perths older, clapped out electrics...
Auckland City really is a shambles - do you see Rodneys super city being run any better???
