Corporate fascist NZ dictator of the year?

Gibbs to tell how he'd rule the world
A Kiwi multi-millionaire is to invite high-paying guests on to his Never Never Land-style farm to hear how he would rule New Zealand. Richlister Alan Gibbs will host former National Party leader Don Brash and ACT founder Sir Roger Douglas to discuss what they would do as "New Zealand's dictator for a year".

UGH – “NZ Dictator for a year” held by Gibbs, Don Brash and Rodger Douglas? Is this some sort of sick joke? Is everyone else throwing up a little in the back of their throats? Don't you love the tone of the article as if it's a laugh? Alan Gibbs IS already a dictator why haven’t the mainstream media picked up on this yet? Why did ACT suddenly change from ‘Smart Green’ environmental policy to Climate Change is a Hoax? Isn’t it interesting that after climate skeptic Alan Gibbs made a $100 000 donation to ACT Rodney suddenly changed his environmental policy?

The brilliant Gareth over at Hot Topic did the detective work…

The price of a policy
Hide’s repositioning coincided with a major donation to ACT by Alan Gibbs, a wealthy NZ businessman best known here for his Aquada (a sportscar that thinks it’s a boat) and for his generous patronage of modern art. Gibbs, however, also plays a prominent role in climate crank organisations. He is on the “policy advisory board” of the International Climate Science Coalition (with such luminaries as Monckton, Bryan Leyland and Owen McShane), while his daughter Emma is listed as a director of the ICSC. In its election spending return to the Electoral Commission, ACT reveals that on April 9th 2008 Gibbs paid $100,000 into the party’s coffers. Within weeks, the party’s new climate denial line was being pushed to the press.

Dictator for a year with corporate junkies like Gibbs, Don Brash and Rodger Douglas laughing it up over the expensive wine. Maybe after a couple of glasses does anyone think they wouldn’t chat about how they would take over the country?

Creepy, very fucking creepy.

Yes we should kill them.

For their "treason".

Who are the fascists again? Funny how you lefties are so quick to look at a violent or murderous response to people who don't share your world view.

Murderous envy is a common trait to the left. If I'm too incompetent or inadequate to earn it then i'll just take it from someone else.

The Aqueda look pretty cool.

1 - Hyperbole. Look it up.

2 - When someone's "world view" is anti-democratic, they're asking for a fight.

I love the right wing tactic of painting this up as envy, not one word from either of the brave anonymous right wing mafia posters here about Gibbs buying climate hoax policy for $100 000. Not a word.

Yeah Hitler's National Socialist Party was really right wing wasn't it Jon? I mean Hitler was just as renowned for his free market economics as his genocide, right Jon?

(shhh don't mention Mao, Stalin PolPot etc).

Why would I? I don't care about Gobs at all, he isn't the one calling for people to be killed now is he?

- brave anonymous poster

You know, irony only works when the opposite of what you're saying is true.

I keep wondering why people are saying that standards in NZ education have dropped. From the crap you hear spewed out on some blogs, you should make the assumption that the NZ education system has always been fucked.

Its news to me Bomber that Act ever had a smart Green policy .. [ which could be sold out on ] I was in Act for years and as far as I could see they didn't really have a Green policy at all.

However, Hides transition from Act Zealot to Minister is bringing some
strange new attitudes.
Over at Cactus Kates, one of his acolytes is describing people who disagree with Hide as cunts.
Its an ugly side of Act members who sometimes actually despise ordinary people.

Doesn't Tim Selwyn have a death list of people who he would like to see dead.

How is that any better?

At least Gibbs espouses his bullshit in the privacy of his own house.
Tim publishes his death list all over the internet.

That was some time ago - I discontinued the list because I lost interest. I made it quite clear that those are the notorious people I expected - and hoped - wouldn't make it past the next new year. The list was mainly based on age, health, threat of assassination and level of fascism involved in tenure.
