GST to rise

'Fairness' key to rise in GST
Low-income earners would have to be compensated if GST were increased as a result of the current tax review, Finance Minister Bill English says. But the Government is not yet convinced of the benefits from a rise in GST, or new taxes such as land or capital gains tax. A working group, chaired by Victoria University's Professor Bob Buckle, is considering changes to the existing system and new "base-broadening" taxes.
Look at how National lied about the $100 ACC fee, and that was just 24 hours ago, look at how they lied about knowing MTV had a pitch for the Rugby World Cup, is anyone going to trust Double Dipton on not raising GST?
13 rich white men were told to go and put together a tax working group to work out what National could get away with in terms of a new tax system. Surprisingly enough it sounds like the 13 rich white men have come up with lower corporate tax rates as a solution, who woulda thunk it? Whatever the call, the 13 rich white men will hand over their tax ideas to the other rich white men in Parliament and they’ll all work out what’s best for them and inform us later.
GST is going up.
