Magnitudes of panic: a blow-by-blow account of Tuatapere's 15 minutes

Panic in the twitter age. From the TUMEKE_blog twitstream:
@ 10:59PMSadly the nz_quake lads seemed to have messed this one up - giving varying accounts. They use GeoNet, which is reporting:

From a twitter account with 810,956 more followers than us:It's the first time New Zealand's self-proclaimed "sausage capital" has been mentioned in the world's media from my knowledge. Odd thing was, when I drove through Tuatapere (in 2006) I couldn't find any sausage outlet - just the sign. And by the looks of that wasted, zoned-out sausage it's made with cannabis, which would explain both why they must have been popular and why the manufacturers were shut down.

You buy the sausages at the butchers you silly goose.

Sadly, the last time Tuatapere was mentioned in the news it was in regards to that awful rape.

I've always been embarassed that we're the sausage capital and sadly the sausages aren't any good either.
