John Key attacked at Waitangi?

Protesters manhandle John Key at Waitangi
LATEST: Prime Minister John Key has said being manhandled by protesters on his way to Ti Tii Marae today will not deter him from future visits to Waitangi.
Mr Key was manhandled by two protesters moments before he was due to be welcomed on to the marae this morning. One protester rushed towards Key yelling 'the movement is still alive'. The protesters were dragged away by bystanders. Inspector Chris Scahill said police had taken two men in for questioning. Further information would be released later this afternoon, he said.

Groan - great, this won't help, protest - sure, physically threaten? NZers don't like that, they don't like that at all. Those two just made John Key look dignified, right when there are legitimate questions about National's pitiful response to our impending economic meltdown with April Fools Day tax cuts for the wealthy and National's contempt for the environment with their gutting of the RMA sold as cutting red tape when really it's about burning green tape. Attacking him like this doesn't help.

Sorry but I had to chuckle over this after listening to all the praise for Key for doing the right honorable thing and visiting waitangi. Maybe now everyone will realise why Helen Clark turned down all those invitations.

Ha ha ha, yes they did!
Compare that to Helen Clark's blubbering like a sook when Titiwhai read her her pedigree.

Well done John classy stuff.

Key has shown himself to be a true statesman.

Seriously what are these clowns expecting? HELLO worst global economic depression since 1929 coming at us and they're asking what's in it for Maori.

I was so wishing they had given his broken arm a good twist...might make the man who is so out of his depth in the job get a wake up call!!!

John Key is no statesman....i swear you could hear him booo hooing..."leave me alone...oh dont hurt me".

I wonder if his wife had the same reaction as Brash's...remember she was more concerned about his Tie and shirt being dirty!!!!

Helen certainly had the right idea....and Waitangi is NOT the only place in the country a PM should visit....fuck Waitangi, head to Christchurch or Hastings.

These men who have tackled John Key have only confirmed to the Nation and those who visit our country that Maori deal with problems in a violent way...Even if these men had good intentions, people's perceptions are formed by actions such as their's.

I'm sorry but there's no excuse for what those protesters did. It was disgusting and rude. Fullstop. How dare they treat a visitor that way!!. Maori will not further their cause by these sorts of actions. By the way, I'm maori myself.
