Olympics 2008 is the Olympics of 1936

Beijing haze recedes
Haze that has covered Beijing for the last few days cleared as rain fell 10 days before the Olympics begin, but the government came under renewed pressure from a damning human rights report.

Every Human Rights Reports shows that things have not gotten better as China promised the world when they were awarded the Olympics , their human rights record has actually gotten worse since 2001 – WORSE! With this knowledge how can anyone do anything other than boycott the Olympics? They promised to clean up their human rights record and they have in fact ended up being worse, to participate now would be helping that repression rather than challenge it. The world did that in 1936, will we do it again in 2008?

I know lets take the Olympics off of China and hold them in:

- the US? Oh wait, Iraq & Afghanistan.

- France? Bah nuclear testing in the pacific.

- South Africa? Corrupt Mugabe supporters.

- Australia? The hardly have respected Aborigines human rights.

- Switzerland? Nazi gold hoarders.

- India? Home of the child sweatshop and caste system.

- Brazil? Corrupt rain forest destroyers.

- Denmark? Will upset the Muslims after those cartoons.

- Russia? Too many profiteering oligarchs.

- Egypt? Jackbooted secret police really run that country.

I know, how about Antartica 2016?

More stupid, facile comments suggesting a "moral equivalency" between countries who's actions are not morally equivalent. Just try to have a blog such as this one in China.
