Car 1 : Tree nil

Hattip to TV3 on another Kiwi salute to storm warnings:
A wild storm in Nelson, New Zealand blows down a large tree, A man in his car narrowly avoids being squashed by said tree.

Note how the cops are all over the show, like they had a Jones moment on Dad's Army, and can't get it together to stop this car coming straight down the road and almost colliding with the obviously falling tree. Maybe it was deliberate? This is Nelson, after all. "What were they smoking?" indeed, observant stander-by.

Remarkable footage.

Go fuck yourself you JAFA prick.

I saw this tree fall, there were 90-100kph winds, what ever one cop was shouting to the other was being lost in the storm. Their radios were only working intermittantly due to the amtospheric conditions. The policed here in Nelson did remarkably well considering the conditions.

Too right! That tree was falling down for ages now in that wind. Moving this way and that! Everyone knew about it and we all braved the weather and watched it fall! And now we are famous!
The police did well!
They tried to make that car turn onto a side street but the driver (must have been a JAFA) insisted that HE wanted to go straight through. Alas, the tree smacked his ass and he shot through like my son in law does when my voice is heard!
You JAFA's got rain in your latte last week I hear... tut tut tut. Weather is good for the paddocks but not this much!
God forbid.

PS. The blog is good. B+ rating. (my personal view) You have some good stories, some repetitive, some down right funny. You're not afraid to speak out. Mr Brabury - keep up with the work.
Mr Selwyn - very good stories on Mugabe!
Ms Fletcher - a newby? Interesting stories on a woman's perspective - i like it and we have come a long way from history.

Going for a cuppa!
Cherrio!

Thank you, Mrs Whyte of Nelson.

My point is that the police did not give the appearance in the video of being organised. One guy's running out onto the street to retrieve something that's blown away, others are running to and fro, and then this car comes straight through.

I suppose it's difficult to put up cones and police tape when the wind is a million miles an hour.
