John Key wanted us in Iraq

While a million Iraqi civilians lie dead for our freedom and democracy delivered by stealth bombers at 30 000 feet in a manufactured war based on lies led by a corporate elite of the military industrial complex combined with neo-con fanatics building an Empire of Amerika, let's take time out to remind ourselves that John Key wanted us in this abortion, and let's hear the echo warned to us by the President of the United States, Dwight D Eisenhower on January 17, 1961...

A vital element in keeping the peace is our military establishment. Our arms must be mighty, ready for instant action, so that no potential aggressor may be tempted to risk his own destruction...
This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence — economic, political, even spiritual — is felt in every city, every statehouse, every office of the federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society. In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals so that security and liberty may prosper together.

You seem to have missed the link to JK saying 'we should be in Iraq killing civilians' Bo ber.

Why is that?

And we're back to a million deaths again are we? Got a link for that on too Bo ber? And none of your dodgy 'information clearing house' links either. Something reputable please.

It only seems like yesterday you were admitting that it was no where near the 600k that Lancet said it was and now its risen to a million. Funny that the 400k civilians killed in the last year have hardly made the news.

Not spinning for effect there are you Bo ber?

What is the death toll in Iraq for the last month Bo ber?

Must be 30k at least,I'm sure there will be hundreds of articles you can link to, from reputable sources, since the numbers are so high?

Of course, you can call me an Exxon funded troll but that still doesn't help your credibility does it?

Links please Bo ber. If you want to be taken seriously you really need to provide links.

Otherwise you're just really talking shite.

Trolli - you are a troll who was embarrassingly caught out sucking up to an exxon-mobil funded group that twists science and I have never conceded your claim that no one has died in Iraq, you are making that up in your own head now Trolli. I've included all the links Trolli - John Key is clearly lying he says National never supported the war when we have the transcripts from the day in Parliament. You are a lonely voice barking at the moon Trolli, shhh, the grown ups are busy.

Lets also remind ourselves that Helen Clarke ACTUALLY put NZ army personal into Iraq as well as our SAS troops in Afghanistan. You know, just in case any impressionable idiots out there thank that Iraq is a good reason to keep Labour in Govt.

Funny that nothing important makes the news... Where do you think it comes from? Wake the fuck up.

"Saddam may have committed gross human rights violations as a Sovereign head of state in the past decades, but did he really crush the Kurds uprising after the first Gulf War without the approval of the now Presidents father; the first Bush in the Oval office. With their Gas he was also free to commit more aggressive war-like atrocities against Iran with the blessing of the weapons manufacturers in the West who supplied the arms. However the heavy handed way "the peace" was controlled with the lies about weapons inspections by Bush and the strictly enforced U.N sanctions regime has meant that many Iraqis suffer still from the dire consequences of poverty, violence and severe hardship caused through poverty in punishment for the ongoing War."

THAT IS WHY CLARK PROTESTED AGAINST VIETNAM AND THE SPRINGBOK TOUR JOHN KEY!

Keeping NZ out of the Coalition of the Willing was Helen Clark's greatest achievement in office. As well as making MMP work.

By the way
I like IKE!

and that's the best thing you can think to say about HC? Talk about damning with faint praise.

Considering first the pressure HC would have been under by the other English speaking democracies (-Canada) to join in order to increase the invasion's legitimacy; and secondly the balls-up terrorist incubator that Iraq has become... I think that staying out was a brave and ultimately fantastic foreign policy decision.

Of course this is just my opinion. RAMSI would probably be the second best foreign policy of the Labour govt, although we were really just a passenger to Australia.

Making MMP viable was her best domestic policy I reckon, so many other Western proportional governments are either incredibly unstable, or shift allegiances continually, and barely get round to governing.

Go Helen. But I'm voting Maori.

THE IRAQ WAR HAS IT'S ROOTS IN THE EROSION OF US ECONOMIC HEGEMONY, A CORRUPT RULING ELITE AND IT'S PRINCIPLE ASSET ARMED FORCE PROVIDED BY A MILITARY BUDGET THAT EXCEEDS THE COMBINED SPENDING OF THE REST OF THE WORLD AND CONTRIBUTES HEAVILY TO THEIR DECLINING ECONOMIC POWER.THE FUNDAMENTAL "CAUSE OF WAR" IS FOUND IN 'THE AMBITIONS' OF THE AMERICAN RULING CLASS AND THE CONCENTRATION OF WEALTH INTO THE HANDS OF A TINY LAYER OF THE POPULATION AND NOWHERE IS THIS PROCESS "MORE PRONOUNCED" THAN IN THE U.S (AND MAYBE) N.Z!

(see $5 bucks for student loans living costs jan 2009?)

So Bo ber - any word on Exxon Mobils donations to Greenpeace yet?

No? Wonder why?

You're welcome to call me a troll all you like Bo ber cause thats when I know I've got you again (and again and again)

I have never conceded your claim that no one has died in Iraq,

I've never claimed that no one died in Iraq, you're making that up in your own head big boy.

You did however agree that the 600k figure from lancet was too high. But now all of a sudden its a million. You appear to be bullshitting Bo ber.

John Key is clearly lying he says National

No, you're lying Bo ber, have you even read the article you linked too?

If you are implying that what Bill English said in 2003 is somehow what JK said in 2007 you are wrong.

If you are implying that JK is responsible for what Bill English said when He was leader then I guess Helen must be responsible for everything Mike Moore, Geoffrey Palmer and David Lange have ever said? Is that right?

I'm not a lonely voice Bo ber as you well know.

Using the classic leftie technique of denigration does you no favors as most of your commentors here can see right through it.

Just makes you look like a windbag with nothing Bo ber.

Nothing.

Legio you're the worst at denigrating people that disagree with you. One only has to look at your past comments to see that.

I'm not a lonely voice Bo ber as you well know.

No you're not, there are many other National Front members out there.

Wow, so Legio is a National Front member because he doesn't believe in global warming? Way to prove Legio's point about denigrating people that disagree.

Wow, somebody's defending Legio. Or is Legio, commenting anonymously again? See here anonymous have a look at how derisory Legio can be in some of the past discussions here, he's the worst here and look how many end up in arguments about Legio.
