Nothing to do with Global warming whatsoever
As Britain lies awash with floods, having to dole out bottled water to those without running supplies, other parts of Europe are using the bottled stuff while being roasted in a deadly heatwave. Up to 500 people are estimated to have died across Hungary in the past week. Tune into Talkback radio and they will tell you, hand on heart that this has NOTHING to do with global warming whatsoever.

George Monbiot, who you can hardly smear as a "denier", has been scratching his head about the recent British flooding. After all, theorists had predicted that climate change would bring hotter, drier summers and wetter winters to Britain. And yet this summer has been rather damp.
So either you can accept the theorists got it spectacularly wrong or you can take the more prosaic view that pointing at individual weather events and screaming "climate change!" is decidedly unscientific. Certainly NIWA thinks so.
It's not for nothing that British summers have a bad reputation. Go back over the last 100 years and you can find several examples of far worse flooding. Part of why this has been such a shock is because the last few British summers have been unusually hot and dry. Which, as I recall, was undeniable proof of global warming. Plus ca change...

I think that what we are seeing is the extreme nature of global warming, as things heat up, more water will evaporate, more evaporation will bring with it more extreme rainfall events, this extra amount of energy in the weather patterns will super charge conditions so that extreme weather events become the norm, what I think we are seeing is this process start, it will continue to get worse and worse as we approach the tipping points (if we keep polluting as we currently are at the moment) - once past those tipping points I have no idea what will occur. Yes Britain probably will get much drier as the heat sucks up much more rain but it will also get extreme rain fall - this yo-yo effect will get more and more extreme. That's my opinion based on my reading.
