Web Rage

Sometimes things get very personal and nasty on this site. It’s important to remember that we are all just throwing ideas and opinions around and that we need to chill a little as I don’t want to start moderating this site too much. That said, this is a great story.
Internet user admits 'web-rage'
An internet user has been found guilty of what police said was Britain's first "web-rage" attack.
Paul Gibbons, 47, tracked down John Jones using details obtained online after the pair exchanged insults in an internet chatroom, a court heard. He travelled 70 miles to Mr Jones' home in Clacton, Essex, and beat him up with a pickaxe handle in December 2005. Gibbons, of Southwark, south London, admitted unlawful wounding and will be sentenced on 7 November.

Havn't heard from msth8d for a while...
Maybe he's out looking for someone
ha ha...
msth8d...Bomber loved him because he was a maori and a criminal...despite the fact he threatened to beat up and kill people he never got censored...where has he gone? He probably got frustrated over the fact that he couldn't write as well as other people on the site....and most of the topics were over his head...
Maybe he is back in jail...that would be ironic...
Compared to some of the abuse I have seen on other blogs, this one seems fairly friendly.
Moderation is an awkward ting. You don't want to censor opinions... but then you don't want to carry certain types of content..
Interesting the web rage attacker and his victim were both muslims who met on an Islamic chat site...'religion of peace' strikes again.
Get your facts straight deano.
They met in a Mulsim chatroom discussing Islam and the war in Iraq. There is no indication that they are Mulsims. With names like Paul Gibbons and John Jones, it is unlikely that they are. Even if they were Mulsim, you can't blame it on religion anymore than you can blame it on them being British.
The case is interesting because it highlights the necessity for keeping yourself some what anonymous online.
getting his facts straight isn't something deano seems to do well and I always liked msth8d, if only to wind you boys up - AB always got in a tizzy with him
Speaking of Web rage .. where is AB these days?
methhead was a homophobic bigot who thought he was a tough man on an internet chatroom.
He bought nothing to the debates but abuse.
Bomber liked him because he hated the police too.
AB has gone to that big fluffy place in the sky.
