“I probably lost control, officer”
A former South Auckland constable told police that he regretted punching a drunk, handcuffed man after losing control in the back of a patrol car.
When the interviewing officer asked Mr Grant what his demeanour and state of mind were like in the car, he said: "I probably lost control with Mr Koia. I shouldn't have punched him but I did."
Hmmm – you punch a handcuffed man 15-20 times in the head after pepper spraying him until he is unconscious and you PROBABLY lost control. Fuck even when Police admit they get it wrong they are hardly magnanimous are they?

The fact that he spends most of his days dealing with fukwits that dislike him shouldn't weigh in his favour, yet compared to some P junkie commiting violence on a completely INNOCENT person, I find myself not unsympathetic towards him.Some people just need 20 punches in the head.

hey anonymous- news flash for you : he HAS lost his job and HE IS BEING CHARGED WITH THE ASSAULT ! thats why he is in court giving evidence...duh! this has nothing to do with race, and he is having the book thrown at him as any cop would. end of story.
Good job. If he lost the plot he deserves to pay like anyone else.
It does disappoint me how Bomber does try to paint all/most cops as thugs though...as someone else said on another thread, it is okay on this site to generalise if you are talking about police, or Americans, or Christians, but not okay to generalise about Muslims or Polynesians or certain other groups.

No Deano - what is disappointing is the we do not have an independent Police Complaints authority yet EVEN THOUGH we have cases like this which if it had not been winessed by a young unjaded cop would have just been swept under the mat. What astounds me Deano is that you take this as anti-police bashing when it's actually the police doing the bashing.
