PRISON BLOG 24

Justice Delayed…

My release date is 4 April 2007

The date of my appeal hearing is 22 February 2007

Mathematics was never my strong suit, but isn’t that only about five and a half weeks before I’m going to be getting out anyway?! (Does Terence Arnold set the fixtures dates?). Can I appeal the appeal date?

Christmas and the festive season…in prison…wonderful. Thank you, Judge Bouchier what a marvelously skilled jurist you are – especially the other week when I saw you on TV giving Home Detention to a guy whose street racing killed someone. So wise not to give Home D to me, after all I haven’t killed someone, I haven’t recklessly endangered the public resulting in a death, so obviously I’m unworthy – if only I’d run over and killed a pedestrian on the way to deliver a “seditious” press release then maybe I’d have Home Detention as well. If only I had snuffed out a human life…maybe then?

The rest of the year…in prison. Thank you, Appeal Court of New Zealand: so prompt, so efficient – words really can’t express how I feel about it.

But Mark – the Police only went through Tim with a fine tooth comb and brought up those fraud charges that were done 10 years ago after they caught him for sedition – they used it to make an example of Tim – and I note that in the same week as Tim, an ex-policeman who was convicted of historical sexual molestation charges that were committed 10 years ago got 100 hours community service and a fine. Also the passport fraud which Tim committed, was exactly the same thing that two Israeli spies pulled, they got 6 months – and they were spies for another country - Tim’s 17 month NO Home Detention and having to serve each sentence was a politically motivated sentence, as was the charge in the first place.

Maybe you could think about how you make things better for the others, including the staff, who also don't want to be there, but with kids to support, rent and mortgages to pay - well that’s life.

It may take your mind off your sad little yourself for a second, think how good you might feel if you made someone smile or helped someone else. Tim sure does seem to be the stereotype self-centered whining crim.

I have never minded working over holidays. Seems to me christmas is about 3 things, religion, family and money, as a person with none of those its nothing to me. Pity he can't pay me to do his time for him.

They say prison is not a deterrent but Tim sure seems to finding it hard (what a wimp) so perhaps he will think twice before he breaks the law again. If he does prison will have worked and served its purpose.

Longer sentantces I agree - especially child porn.

Surely NZ has the most pathtic sentences for child porn in the develiped world - a few hours cominty serveice - which they don't do.

10 years in the slammer would be more like it.

Look on the bright side Tim you will be out soon Susan Couch has a life sentance and she (like many) was completly innocent.

Oh yes, lets ramp up sentencing, because that stops crime. Oh wait, no it doesn't they tried that and there is absolutely no correlation. Oh dear.

Oh yes, and people who find being locked up in a rat hole hard _ARE_ wimps aren't they, because fuck, New Zealand prisons are easy. No sweet bro, no sweat. Get the fuck out.

Whilst i'm not too keen on sedition, he was trying to tell people to do grossly stupid things as a clear attention seeking activity. If someone had been hurt or worse due to his encouragement of throwing axes at MP's offices, i'm sure tim would be feeling a lot less sorry for himself.

And hey, he still comitted some serious defrauding of the state, so my heart doesn't bleed for him really.

That's right sam - because when the Government confiscate land via legislation people should just roll over and take it.

That's not what i said. I personally despise the foreshore and seabed act, but there are ways to protest that aren't so dangerously retarded, for want of a better term.

All i was saying is that although the sedition charges are bizare to the point of obscenity, he was still being pretty stupid. Fraud on the other hand is much worse. These systems are in place to help people and tim abused it to try and make a point, which would be lost on many i would dare say.

It may not stop crime but I suspect Susan Couch feels slightly better with Bell locked away. I have never met her but I think if I were attacked and my attacker was out there I would fear he would come and finish the job.

It’s happening everywhere.

Maybe if Ian Huntly have been locked away when he first displayed sexual deviancy two innocent girls would still be alive. Maybe if Bradley Murdoch had been locked away for the rape and abduction of the 12 year old Peter Falconio would still be alive. Perhaps if Taffy Hotene was kept inside (as he wanted to be) Kylie Jones would still be alive.

Or maybe you are right and prison is irrelevant and we all have to take our chances. Maybe Susan Couch is just a wimp who should feel guilty for letting that nice Mr Bell bash her half to death.

Of course there are people (maybe Tim is one of them, but really with all the other problems and injustices of the world is he that important) who don't belong in jail but are they really the number one priority ??

Equally there are some very dangerous people walking the streets who should be locked away (not necessarily in prison) now before yet another totally innocent person pays the price.

If you have children, or even baby-sit them for your rich friends now and then, would you really want Paul Dally released to live in your street ??

No one wants to see damaged, dangerous criminals on the street - that goes without saying - what I have a problem with is a system that dehumanizes people and only serves to exasperate the problem within jail - why not attempt to rehabilitate these people - not in the bullshit no money way we do it now - but real rehabilitation - the bad buggers who can't change don't deserve to be back in society - but the majority of people could be rehabilitated - I'm glad you have accepted that Tim shouldn't be in Prison - and you ask - is it our number one priority - of course it isn't in the wider world - but here on a site that Tim runs - yes of course we will talk about it - this is a blog site that allows that. And Sam - I agree - the Fraud is a dumb thing for Tim to have done - BUT the Police only brought up those charges from 10 years after they went through him with a fine tooth comb during the sedition case - which allowed them to throw the book at him. Tim attacked the Government and the Empire struck back

I'm really offended by some of the simplistic arguments offered by people. What can we hope to achieve by smirking "I told you so" to someone who obviously IS doing his time, and IS learning from the experience? I'm not learning much about justice from this experience- I am learning that people can be really unpleasant when someone is already down and out. What a shame some people can't help but put the boot in. Prison is bad enough without arrogance and superior attitudes from those of us fortunate to 'get away with' whatever laws we may have broken being 'ok'-

Bomber you really are a liar its just not on.

I have never said Tim should not be in prison - I have no idea. I said MAYBE got that MAYBE. I have little or no interest in Tim. Who cares about this sad nobody for gods sake. Unlike you I accept things are possible.

You are so dishonest how on earth do you justify that to yourself.

You make statement without evidence - where is your evidence that the majority of people in prison could be rehabilitated.

Vish – tell me about it, the vengeance mentality and almost hatred for talking about the conditions in prison and how they exacerbate the total problem is amazing. Take a look at the Anon post below you – apparently I’m a liar now….

Dear Anon – how do I tell your rants about prisoners apart from the other anonymous posters who also don’t put their name to their comments? If I’ve associated your comments to someone else I’m dreadfully sorry and have decided (so that the same mistake can’t be made again) not to respond to anonymous posts so I can’t confuse comments again. Here are some names you could choose to use…

“String ‘em high”
“What about the victims, please someone think about the victims”
“Everyone in Prison deserves to be there because I don’t have the ability to imagine the justice system might be a bit fucked”
“Rehabilitation is for fags, punish the lot”.
Or my personal favourite…
“My sense of outrage won’t be sated until each and every prisoner is chain ganged, breaking rock and singing old negro spirituals”.

Hope that helps

Mr Bob ‘dishonest, liar, statement maker without evidence’ Mer

You are sick .....

Has anyone here advocated hanging or is that just one of your many fantasies.

As for your contempt for victims and anyone who expresses sorrow for them – you are really sick.

I would be interested in some real evidence of rehabilitation that works – have you ever spoken (when they are off guard rather then telling you what you want to hear) to crims who have been through the programs they run in units like TP in Auckland.

Do not I repeat DO NOT allow any of them to be alone with your very famous actress’s friend child.

Don't worry anon this is just a blogsite.
Bomber just makes shit up and attributes it to what ALL of New Zealanders think.
Don't take him seriously, no one else does.

Acutally he's worse when he thinks he's funny.

Imagine meeting him in a pub he would either bore you to death with his 'joke' or his anger would get the better of him and you would get an axe in the head.

Hahahahaha - Bomber I thought that was the funniest post yet, and look how you've worked the sensible sentencing club up - very funny B, very funny!

I am the person the NZ Police have labled as NZ's first and very own TERROREST.
I was caught last Dec 7th at Waitangi with what the Police called a pipe bomb and explosive cord and detonators.
I also had in my possesion The Terrorest Handbook, The Treaty Of Waitangi The Decleration Of Inderpendance and a few personal oppions of the Treaty.
I was only sentenced to 10months prison and labled a terrorest. I did a total of 5months in prison.
We all know that is those of us who have been exposed to the NZ Justice system that it is a total joke of the word Justice.
There is no real Justice, Just Us! Justice is just a game played between high payed Lawyers with the lives of people they dont know and dont want to know.
There is a add played over and over on TV the catch line is "Know Me Befor You Judge Me".
No Judge has ever taken the time to know me, but they have been fast enough to Judge me.
If the Police take a dislike to someone they go to all sorts of means including breaking the very law they are sworn to inforce to obtain an arrest.
Tim's sentence is a warning to all. DONT SPEAK OUT DONT STAND UP FOR WHAT YOU BELEVE.
I hope everyone had an enjoyable TERROREST DAY on 5th Nov and rembered Guy Fawlks attempt at blowing up the BRITISH GOVERNMENT.
Why? Cause he got fed up with the lack of JUSTICE and the way the people were getting mistreated by their elected officials.
