ACCEPT TASERS OR WE’LL GIVE COPS GUNS!

Police Commissioner backs away from Taser comments
Police Commissioner Mr Broad yesterday conceded that there would be pressure to arm police if Taser guns, using an electric current, were found to be unsuitable in trials, the Dominion Post reported. Mr Broad cited "strong forces" wanting police to carry guns but did not elaborate on who they were.

Hmmm, so as a member of society, I have to accept the cops using Tasers WITHOUT ANY independent police complaints authority who can prosecute Police who overstep the mark if they misuse Tasers (like they misuse pepper spray and police dogs) or ‘strong forces’ will arm the cops with guns. Hmmmm, kinda sounds like I’m being threatened to accept Tasers or I’ll face cops with guns doesn’t it folks? I don’t trust cops with the weapons they have now, why the fuck would I trust these pumped up, ill trained alpha male power freaks with guns?

Police Commissioner Broad quickly backed away from his statements once they were challenged by Radio NZ

Speaking on Radio New Zealand today, Mr Broad again declined to name who the strong forces were, and when asked if the words were appropriate conceded "probably not".

"I want to support the considered approach and warn against a reactionary approach," he said.

A ‘considered response’ Police Commissioner Broad? And what do you consider threatening to arm the Police with guns if we protest against Tasers? Is that a ‘considered response’?

Why doesn’t Police Commissioner Broad be honest with the NZ public and say this?

“Look NZ, here’s the deal – no one wants to be a cop these days ok, after the whole beating up people from the Springbok tour, we lost the respect of the Middle Classes, and becoming a cop was about as socially acceptable as beating your children in public. So we are left scrapping the bottom of the societal barrel with poorly trained inarticulate cops who aren’t physically confident and only have thug force backed up with an array of non-lethal weapons to overcompensate for their inability to diffuse situations. So unless you are willing to give us more tax money to expand our paltry 19week police training course and better overall resourcing, we are gonna need no more questions asked stun guns ok”?

The truth New Zealand is that Tasers have been here since 2004.

A case in the Auckland High Court at the moment involving a couple on trial of importation/exportation of Class A drugs.

Arresting Customs Officiers and Police used a Taser gun to get an admission of guilt from the husband.

This is the first drug trial I have seen where people are convicted on hersay.

Other drug couriers have actually been caught with the drugs in their possession.

What makes this interesting is the defendent claim social injustice as the police are covering up the fact that used a taser on him.

Well if they go for compensation we have a spare 11 billion.

why is it that you seem to think every police officer is dum, inarticulate, from the bottom of the barrel, alpha male, and pumped up? what a bullshit generalisation that is!! why the fuck dont you go to your local station and ask to go for a ride along to see what a great bunch 99% of cops are, that many are university educated, are articulated, are more than happy to avoid physical confrontation by talking people down, and refrain from using their appointments. Cops are proud to be cops, its not the rubbish pay that they do it for, its because they love the job, they hate seeing bullies pick on people and scum break the law. then you would see that you are talking thru your massive whole in your backside.

Well Im a person who thinks the gravy train has gone on with incompetent Police too long.

Maybe if the person before me read how an Officier took the law into his own hands while in the back of a squad car. The other officiers that were with him, stated to the court that they were inexperienced and did not know if he was breaking the law. He is to be convicted.

Long serving Police officier kills wife in a knife frenzy and is now a convicted criminal.

Violence to me is pain inflicted on others without their permission. What gives the Police rights to have a lethal weapon after 19 weeks of training.

I work for victims of crime and know for a fact that going to your local police station is a joke.

A person who was burgled three weeks ago went with evidence to the officier who was head of her case, only to be told that there is nothing that they can do about it.

Praise for police huh what a joke. I certainly would like to do a class action against our government for anybody whom has a taser used on them.

Good luck to the person on trial at the High Court. More Taxpayers money to be paid out for Police incompetence of unprofessional bullshit.

He is being convicted for the crime. What do you want, a death sentence!

"A person who was burgled three weeks ago went with evidence to the officier who was head of her case, only to be told that there is nothing that they can do about it."

You will find that is because the suspected burglar has certain rights that cannot be trodden on by the police.
My sister has the number plate of the car that burgled her.
The police have visited the man, but cannot prove he was driving the car on the day, so cannot arrest him.
Such is the price we pay to live in a secular democratic country.
