CNN reporter put on Terror list after criticizing Homeland security

Formal calls for probe into reporter's name on no-fly list
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A House representative said Thursday she is requesting an investigation after learning a CNN reporter was put on the federal no-fly list shortly after his investigation of the Transportation Security Administration. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas asked Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff about "a curious and interesting and troubling phenomenon" that CNN Investigative Correspondent Drew Griffin was added to the list. "My question is, why would Drew Griffin's name come on the watch list, post-his investigation of TSA?" Jackson Lee said. "What is the basis of this sudden recognition that Drew Griffin is a terrorist? Are we targeting people because of their critique or criticism?"

Drew Griffen was criticizing the level of air marshals and this week reported that the terror watch list with a million was widely criticised as being redundant and error ridden, and now finds himself on the Terror list himself. The explanation from the TSA was that his name may be the same name as another terrorist – hmmmmm, I’m no Islamo-fascist expert, but not that many Drew Griffin’s jump out at me as potential Islamic terrorists. This list has been widely castigated and the list of those who have been put on the no fly terror watch are; Cat Stevens, Ted Kennedy, Daniel Brown, a United States Marine returning from Iraq, was prevented from boarding a flight home in April 2006 because his name matched one on the No Fly List. The rest of his company refused to leave the airport until Brown was allowed to board, James Moore, an Emmy-winning television news correspondent, co-author of Bush's Brain: How Karl Rove Made George W. Bush Presidential, political activist, and outspoken critic of the Bush administration, was placed on the No Fly List, U.S. Representative John Lewis (D-GA), widely known for his civil rights advocacy, has been stopped many times and until July 2008, Nelson Mandela and other members of the African National Congress were on the list.

It sounds to me like the US is well on it's way to becoming a police state. It's disturbing and frustrating that people are being put on the terror watch list just for exercising freedom of speech.

I've read reports over the internet of empty FEMA camps situated throughout the US. Does anyone have any definite answers about what these are intended to be used for?
