But we don’t trust you with the army you’ve got

McCain wants much larger US military
Republican presidential candidate John McCain wants the US military to be much larger than current expansion plans envision, an adviser to the Arizona senator said this week. The Bush administration has begun expanding the US Army and Marine Corps to create a combined strength of around 750,000 active duty troops – a process backed by McCain's Democratic rival, Senator Barack Obama of Illinois. But McCain believes an Army and Marine Corps with a combined strength of up to 900,000 troops is necessary, said Randy Scheunemann, an adviser to the candidate on foreign policy and national security.
"Sen McCain feels the proposed increases are not sufficient. They need to be more, to fully address the challenges we face in the 21st century," Scheunemann said in a telephone interview.

M-O-R-E? McCain wants MORE? More Army? 900 000 troops, why would we want America to have a bigger army? I don’t trust the buggers with the one they have now, why feed the military industrial complex anymore than you have to? Hasn’t Bush bloated their profit margins to near vomit levels over the last 8 years, why suck more young and poor teenagers into the human mincer of war, surely Peace isn’t just about not having an active battle, but it is a time free from the preparation for war and the building for war.

  1. To get a larger army they will need to reintroduce the draft.....or selectively impoverish parts of their country (as they have arguably done in the past) to ensure enough willing raw meat to fill the ranks.
