Actual Public Broadcasting on Breakfast - Oh. My. God.
Did anyone see Corin Dan on Breakfast this morning? Oh. My. God. He had John Key on the backfoot throughout the interview regarding Pansy Wong and his decision to abolish travel Perks.
Watching Key get acidic on Pete Hodgson, describing Pete as living in the sewer was just nasty and showed the deep nerve Hodgson had struck over the pansy Wong affair. Key's semantics that Hodgson asked questions about Wong signing as a witness using her position as Minister rather than the travel perk was weak, Hodgson was highlighting what is fast becoming a pathology of Wong misusing her position.
Corin Dan actually held Key to account and Key looked uncomfortable on Breakfast for the first time since he became Prime Minister.

I loved it how Corin made John Key squirm! At last, now that the patsy has been removed, we now get a proper interview!
So Corin Dan is more than just a business MC? I must find a clip.
And I guess Key can't as easily walk away from regular TVNZ interviews as he has everywhere else.
So thats who we was referring to in regard to "living in the sewer". I was making my lunch and almost spilt my cup of tea when I heard that. Don't think I'd heard such an aggressive statement from Key before. A few cracks appearing in Key's persona when hes on the defence.
Oh yeah! John Key was way out of his comfort zone on that one! No smiling cheerleader interview that time!
Oh yes, the PM has a nasty streak alright. The parlimentary opposition has to keep working him with body shots and see what else transpires.
Go Corin! his backside will be lucky to make an indent on that sofa again, at least while JFK (John Fucking Key) is on it.
Note the way though that some kill-joy emailed in to try and chastise Corin Dan for being rude! (Actually he was very polite).
I guess the concept of public service television AND the fourth estate is now such a thing of the dim distant past on ms tv they may not have ever encountered it.
That objector didn't however mind John Key suggesting Hodgeson was living in the sewer.
Of course, you'd be just as pleased if TVNZ made Chancellor Klark's withered face do the fandango, right?
Corin Dan AND his sidekick Nadine Chalmers-Ross - both ex RNZ Business News.
I'm tempted to have a squizz at Breakfast TV. It's about time they had a decent interviewer who took the role seriously.
Although, it'd have to be pretty damned good to tear me away from "Morning Report" on RNZ...
