apparently leaving Gerry Brownlee in charge wasn't the cure all John Key had hoped for - Tea with the Queen is off

High tea with the Queen is off...

Key: Trip 'not prudent' in wake of earthquake
John Key has cancelled his scheduled trip to Europe in the wake of the Christchurch earthquake.

John Key cancels his trip for high tea with the Queen in the wake of the worst earthquake in 80 years - he is a visionary leader ain't he? He was VERY certain he was going before the online friction against his trip started building - apparently leaving Gerry Brownlee in charge wasn't the cure all he had hoped for.

If the answer was Gerry Brownlee, the question would have been, 'what won't help'?

The prospect of leaving Brownlie and 'Hone' Carter in charge of anything serious would keep JK at home, alright.
