This afternoon reporting on the media industry development authority - part of the continuing insanity that passes for governance - and I have to note here that our little mate, NZ lawyer Christopher Pryde is on it. Why the (purported) Solicitor-General should be on a media ministry just underscores how few people they have to carry the regime and how desperate they have become.The regime is moving against its enemies and there will be even less of a free press to say anything about it. Not that RNZ is doing such a flash job itself:

One of the people to be arrested in coup No.5 - last year's one when the regime abrogated the constitution - was the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji (the NZ High Commission is in the same building). The RBF is now under the control of the dictatorship and the charges against Chaudhry are being laid by the RBF. Pryde is a fucking disgrace, as are most of the Nzers and Australians propping up this pathetic junta.
So too is our own BSA. One only needs to look at the complaint against Michael Field by Pryde (laid in his official - "interim"/illegal Sol Gen).
One wonders why they considered such a complaint legitimate in terms of jurisdiction.
Very selective of them. I'm picking complaints against NZ Media from say Zimbabwe or Burma would not have received the same attention.

Exactly. The natives needs someone else to run their disgusting little junta because they're too incompetent to run it themselves.

But you forget that the army and police are majority fijian and that is where the power lies. They only co-opted the indians in because they're the only economically competent class to run fiji and maybe the chinese too.
Same old story from every post colonial country. Natives are not use to running business so instead they become rentier capitalists leaving others to do the hard work.
It's not the hard work that most indigenous Fijians refuse to do; it is dishonest dealings, lying and ripping off other humans. All the little tricks of dog eat dog and devil take the hindmost practised by those swilled out of england and inflicted on the rest of the planet.
