Woman priests as bad as molesting children???

Vatican 'speeds up' abuse cases
The new Vatican document also listed the attempted ordination of a woman as a "grave crime" to be handled by the Vatican's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, just as sex abuse is.

Sex abuse by priests that was then hidden is a 'grave crime' according to the Church and ordaining a female priest is also a 'grave crime' so the Church is seriously trying to tell the modern world that in the eyes of the Church, molesting children and hiding that molestation IS AS BAD AS allowing a woman to be a priest???????????????????

No wonder organized religion has no role in todays society.

'organised religion' what about disorganised religion ?? Are you saying some religion is good ??

If you are I suggest you do a little more research – there are some that have been very good at PR present a benign public face. Look a bit deeper. The SA's are getting away with far more than the rock cakes.

Even those ‘nice’ Bahia’s have some views I doubt you would like, they have as many obsessions with sex as the others, their attitudes on homosexuals for example.

Let’s face facts anyone who believes in the supernatural is bonkers - unless you have evidence of the supernatural that is.

The other cults must be loving this, while people are focusing on the rock cakes they are forgetting about them.

Abuse, of all kinds, is rampant in all cults. To be fair it’s not just them, plenty of cover-ups going on in swanky private schools.

Where were/are the parents of these children, aren't they just as guilty for putting (and keeping) their children in harm’s way, please don't let them pretend they didn't know. Even if they can get away with that lie, they know now and are still putting their children up as sacrifices.

The church has ruled it does not have the authority to ordain women as priests - because priests represent Christ, and the only info we have on Christ is he came to Earth as a male. This is especially important in the Sacraments, like mass, which recreates Christ's last supper - the 1st mass.

So the church tackles a problem it has with some bishops rogue ordination of women priests, and at the same time is also dealing with those members who abuse children.

The church doesn't claim abuse and female ordination are in any way related, let alone the same kind of illicit actions - so why do you conflate them? And why continually attack the Pope, as if he has total control over all church members at all times - he doesn't (it's called free will).

Your continual rants against the Pope and catholic church smacks of Cameron Slater's little rants. Try to rise above it.

No, I'm saying some spirituality is good. I await your 5000 word rant on atheist reasoning with baited breath.

Maybe it's the repressed Catholic I never was? I'm sorry but I find the Church very amusing and I'm sure the Pope doesn't mind a bit of ribbing.

As for your defence of the Church. Describing the sexual molestation of children with the exact same words they used to make some petty religious point seems to smack of their usual arrogance rather than justify their use of the same words.

If you are claiming that the Pope has some staffing issues and this excuses the use of the same words, I suggest you write a letter to his human resources department and ask if they could hold off on the gold thrones and put a bit more into the frontline?
