Strike on Gaza school 'kills 30'
At least 30 people were killed and 55 injured when Israeli artillery shells landed outside a United Nations-run school in Gaza, UN officials have said.
A number of children were among those who died when the al-Fakhura school in the Jabaliya refugee camp took a direct hit, doctors at nearby hospitals said. Israel said its soldiers had come under fire from militants inside the school. Earlier, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) warned of a "full-blown humanitarian crisis" in Gaza. Speaking on the 11th day of the Israeli assault, a senior ICRC official, Pierre Kraehenbuhl, said life in Gaza had become intolerable. Palestinian medical sources say up to 600 people have been killed since the attacks began, and Mr Kraehenbuhl said much more needed to be done to protect civilians.
History always repeats when you don’t learn from it and bombing UN schools in refugee camps in the single largest loss of life since this politically driven blind rage military aggression by Israel is the new high tide mark of disgust along with the news that Israel is using phosphorus shells which are chemical weapons and as such amounts to a war crime. I say history repeats because cast your mind back to the Lebanon war and Israel did the exact same thing, they bombed a UN Post and killed 4 UN troops and they used phosphorus shells in that conflict as well. We are seeing the same naked militaristic no holds barred paranoia driving Israeli tactics which if committed by any other country on the face of this planet would be met with outright UN condemnation.
What does Israel have to do before the National Government criticizes them, why aren’t National criticizing Israel? Because National have always sucked up the US and Israel, we have always historically had to look to Labour for an independent foreign affairs policy. Murray McCully would criticize America and Israel if his mouth wasn’t so busy kissing their arses.

BTW. White phosphurus IS NOT a "chemical weapon". It is banned, but it is not a chemical weapon as such. (it SHOULD be - but then they would not be able to use it at ALL)

They get around it by calling them "flares" or some such. White phosphurus is used in them perfectly legally unfortunately.

Is it banned as a military weapons? Yes.
Should it be labelled a chemical weapon? Yes.

John Key is Jewish, so sam here adds a Jewish sounding name to John Key's to
a) label him as a Jew, as Key is not Jewish sounding enough for anti-semitic sam, and;
b) Uses said Jewish name to make some sort of point.
This skirmish is certainly letting us know how people such as Sam really feel towards the Jewish people.
