The first 100 days of Daddy State with the beige Obama in the land of the wrong white crowd

Act draws up demands for support
The Act Party leadership says the issue of Sir Roger Douglas having a role in the new government is not dead, despite National leader John Key ruling out the prospect of giving the economic reformer a ministerial post. The Act Party will meet National today to begin hammering out the details of their governing arrangement. Before the election, Mr Key unequivocally ruled Sir Roger out of his ministerial line-up because of his right-wing economic ideas. However, yesterday Act leader Rodney Hide and its president Garry Mallett said a role for Sir Roger would form part of negotiations, although neither would be drawn on what type of role they wanted.
So what can we expect from the first 100 days of the Daddy State that is the diametric opposite to the change that Barack Obama is bringing America, well we will see the Tax Cuts that benefit the wealthy and of course we can expect some major changes with the Resource Management Act which will have the Greens in tears and much, much, much more private contracting of Public Services, that is a certain. The change will be harsh and quick in the hope that the pain they cause will be forgotten by 2011, but it will surprise some people who thought the “Change” they bought was just changing Helen Clark, the other area to watch will be the privatization of the prison service, expect the horror stories from the American experience to start trickling in from the Listener and Sunday Star Times to start turning people onto what they have bought into. How serious was ACT wih their inane sensible sentencing death penalty fantasists will determine how far to the right we are about to go.
Oh and Christ don’t I want to read the article the beige Obama had published in the Libertarianz Magazine.

Daddy State - I love it! What was the article, what did it say?
"How serious was ACT wih their inane sensible sentencing death penalty fantasists will determine how far to the right we are about to go."
Wasn't aware anyone wanted the death penalty. However, Steven Levitt did find that increased prison sentences & more police numbers were two major reasons explaining the decline in crime in the US through the 90's.

Bullshit Ben - rising employment was more of a factor than more prisons and police, Levitt has been written off, you still buying into the police state dream are you Ben?
You must be thinking of the old Listener, before APN bought them. These days, they are the ListeNBR.
Deborah Hill Cone?
'Nuff said.
Expect some sort of flip-flop,from the retired forex dealer.Having that awful old golem,Roger Douglas, tottering around in the background to coalition discussions is enough send a shiver down anybody's spine. The law&order angle, and the inevitable attempts at privatisation,by stealth is a given, from this lot.The onslought on MMP,is the one that, will do the most lasting damage.Generally,Nat Governments can be lived through, though, this time round their really pissed off at having had to spend the last nine years,in opposition. They'll be out to make us pay.
Hi anonymous,
The article in the "Libertarianz magazine" (it's called the Free Radical, actually) can be found here at my blog Pacific Empire.
And it's interesting that the "far, far, far, far right Libertarianz" want to legalise marijuana, supported the legalising of prostitution, and criticised Labour for not going the whole hog to legalise gay marriage.
Hi ho Bomber! I've been thoroughly enjoying your commentary during this election season and you've become my fave go-to guy lately for the acquisition of cutting leftwing quips to drop into conversations with my right-leaning friends... can't wait for an opportunity to plagiarise your "beige Obama in the land of the wrong white crowd" and a few of the doozeys you let fly on Eye-to-Eye on Sunday.
These last few months I've become so addicted to watching the Tumeke Team on Sunday News Roast (I plan my entire day around it and cook my big fancy meal of the week to be ready at 7pm on the dot LOL) it's the only show I'm going to be in hysterics over loosing when I move to a SkyTV-less home next month. Yeh yeh I know y'all have the internet feed but it's just not the same as parking up on my big squooshy sofa with feast on lap.
I'm giving serious thought to picking up a Dreambox decoder and seeing if there's any way I might be able to ((((cough-cough)))) tap into the AltTV feed through that. If any of our lurking readers have any clues in that dept please drop me a line via my blog contact page (confidentiality assured hehe).
One of the few upsides of this dismal election result is going to be dropping by Tumeke to read the regular roastings I have come to enjoy in this l'il corner of the blogosphere. Keep fighting the good fight!
Cheers,
Z
Z - You can watch the show live on www.alttv.co.nz - all Alt Tv is streamed live on the internet.
