Key and Wammo make love on air

Interesting what John Key had to say to Wammo today, the Kiwi FM Breakfast Host has become John Key's warmest hugfest of late (last week John announced he knew the identity of the secret taper on Wammo but strangly no where else where he would be challenged by a harder interviewer) and here was another example of the sharp interviewing skills of the great Wham...

“every leftwing blogger out there has a field-day going on and on about the fact that Labour say I said climate change is a hoax…they should just get their facts right down at The Standard because the facts are I said ‘Kyoto is a hoax’”.
John Key on KiwiFM with the great Wham

Really, no challenge to that statement, well let's go to The Standard to see the full quote...

“This is a complete and utter hoax, if I may say so. The impact of the Kyoto Protocol, even if one believes in global warming—and I am somewhat suspicious of it—is that we will see billions and billions of dollars poured into fixing something that we are not even sure is a problem”
(Hansard 10 May 2005)

Now John says, and I quote from Hansard, "even if one believes in global warming—and I am somewhat suspicious of it So John is somewhat suspicious of global warming while believing Koyoto is a complete and utter hoax, I'm not sure how much that actually helps John other than his spinning his way out of looking like a climate denier, which when you examine his quote he clearly states he has suspiucions as to whether global warming is real or not.

What is does show though is that Bloggers are having an effect in this election because they are beyond the mainstream media control of the Crosby/Texter spin and John Key is having to counter it especially in the aftermath of the secret tapes meltdown, and as the secret polling National took starts to sink in and as the effects of the secret taping starts to erode the wider electorates faith in National (50% don't believe them now) National are going to have to work much harder to control the message before election day.

I think you miss one important point about blogging which is credibility.

I'm perfectly prepared to accept the independence of Bomber, Phoebe and Tim's views because we know who they are and what they stand for.

But I'm not prepared to accept the validity of the standard's views because I don't know who the fuck they are hiding under a cloak of anonimity.

I think the identity of bloggers should not be withheld especially when they are becoming such a vital part of the democratic process through informing the public and adding to the debate.

But when they purposefully hide their identities it makes their independence and thus their credibility look very much suspect.

Are you not aware of the identity of the posters at The Standard Bo ber?

Sorry, but that's to much even for you.

You've jumped the shark, twice, on Wild Turkey, no ski's.

Take a break.

C'mon John-boy, you know the 'global warming myth' is just that. We know it, the whole wide world knows it - except for some flat-earthists. And, like with all flat-earthist, reason does not work, even irrefutable scientific evidence doesn't.

so your boy does have a different agenda to the one he is saying out loud mawm, and you are a climate denier as well? That will come in handy later. Why are national supports always hiding things?

Hmmm....interesting to see if you get an answer to that question Nonny.

Me thinks you may be waiting a while.

The interesting thing about the standard is how it's writers such as Steve Pierson proclaim they they vote for left wing minority parties such as the greens so it's gives them the veneer of independence but what actually comes out is orthodox pro labour party speak.

It's quite clear that they are unwilling to criticize labour whatsoever.

I would say that Labour are running the same game as Winston does with his funding by putting up chinese wall so its all deniable if they're caught.

Although having the same IP addresses as the labour party server doesn't help things.

I don't think we'll see the standard in operation after national wins as the funding will probably run out from labour

Ohh, the right do get personal when they are angry don't they, I don't know about Bomber having no impact, he seems to have had quite a bit, how many other blog sites this year have been in the papers as much as Tumeke, or his commentry on RNZ or look at Alt, that story on Goff was pretty big news, isn't Tumeke ranked 10th in the country and the Sunday News Roast is a great show. I don't think you can make that call at all Anon. But I do think you need to get some sleep.
