MP's over-stayer dens also in Wellington

The Taito Phillip Field saga is just appalling. As the depositions in the Manukau District Court continue we are hearing a sub-credible scenario of the benevolent Mr Field putting people up in his rental houses, but they don't pay rent, they just do the odd bit of plastering... and then Phil sorts out their immigration issues. What an awesome guy.

This MP and these over-stayers and the immigration process in this country are just un-fucking-believable:
Giving evidence for a third day, Ms Phothisarn told the Manukau District Court she had met Field several times during 2002, as her immigration plight worsened and she came within hours of deportation.
Ms Phothisarn arrived in New Zealand on a visitor's permit in May 1996, and had been living in Auckland illegally since August of that year.
She narrowly avoided capture during an Immigration Service raid on her Skipton Rd, Mangere, home in September 2002, but was caught when officers raided again in November.
By December, she had been issued a removal order and was shifting from house to house with her infant son to avoid the authorities.

So she's playing cat and mouse with the authorities who are trying to get her illegal arse out of the country and what does Field do? From Monday's evidence:
Ms Phothisarn has been in New Zealand since 1996, when she arrived on a three-month visitor's permit. She had been an overstayer for about six years at the time of the raid.
Speaking through an interpreter, she told prosecutor David Johnstone she married Sompong Srikaew - who had New Zealand residency - in 2002, soon after her visit to Field.
"Taito told me that I should go and get married, and then I could come back and see him later on."

So he's giving advice to over-stayers on how to get away with it - and get some cheap labour out of it to boot. And not just in Auckland either:
They accepted an offer from Field's wife, Maxine, that they stay at a Field house in the capital. Once there, the group - including two relatives of Ms Phothisarn, one of whom was also an illegal immigrant - did repair work on the house. [...]
In April 2003, Ms Phothisarn got a letter from the Associate Immigration Minister saying she could apply for a New Zealand work permit. By that December she was in the process of completing a residency application.

Oh great it turned out fine - for her. Although she needs an interpreter. What a great Kiwi. What a wonderful addition to our nation.

She gets herself pregnant as part of her attempts to circumvent the proper immigration process, is that what she did? She marries, on the advice of an MP, as part of her attempts to circumvent the proper immigration process. And then the MP pulls strings with his mate the immigration minister to ultimately ensure that she has circumvented the proper immigration process. And if you think it is just this MP who assists foreigners in breaking our laws then think again - it's not just Field who thinks it is appropriate to help unwelcome and law-breaking visitors.

I do not have compassion for people who deliberately and illegally subvert the immigration system and are then deported, and I am not thankful when over-stayers manage to successfully wrangle and grease and manipulate and corruptly acquire a right to stay here from the stupid, inept and corrupt government. All over-stayers have to do is shack up with some schmuck with residency - not even citizenship - and they get to stay. It encourages over-staying for all the legal migrants and it also promotes suspicion of legitimate migrants.

Every over-stayer seems to have some special reason they must stay. Bash your missus up, again and again, and you get to stay too, because you need medical care. Well I say, march into the intensive care ward, rip the cords out of him, drag his limp body onto a stretcher, restrain his weeping and bruised dumb-ass wife, drive him at dangerously high speed to the airport, and put the cunt on the next flight out - and if we have to use an Airforce Hercules to make it a parachute drop on some island or some country that doesn't want him back, then so be it. Bon voyage mother-fucker.

If the system worked there would be no need for extreme and unhumanitarian statements.

Our immigration system is a total mess. Govt. stats on overstayers are a joke:

That's right, it's a sample only, there are ranges not hard numbers, it sounds as though they don't actually have a full list, because you know, it's such a mission and that guy in the basement who's in charge gets his typing finger sore if has to do more than one a day...
